Frank Lowy thankfully is okay, having taken one of the most famous falls the soccer world has seen in recent memory.

Lowy, the 84-year-old chairman of Australia’s Football Federation, fell off the podium Sunday during the A-League (Australian first division) Grand Final trophy celebration. Lowy was reaching for the trophy when he slipped off the elevated stage and tumbled to the turf in front of 30,000 spectators at Melbourne Victory’s AAMI Park.

Lowy’s fall looked bad, and medical staff rushed to his side. But the soccer chief didn’t need much attention and escaped serious injury.

“I want to thank everyone for the concern shown and support for me after my tumble at the Grand Final,” Lowy said in a statement on the FFA’s website. “I think everyone was as shocked as I was, but I’m grateful to be resting comfortably. I have a sore shoulder which might take some time to fully recover, but I should be OK.”

Lowy’s scary tumble didn’t prevent him from carrying out his ceremonial duties, according to FOX Sports Australia. Lowy brushed himself off, returned to the stage and handed the trophy to Victory captain Mark Milligan. He later reportedly left the field without anyone’s help.

Melbourne defeated Sydney FC 3-0 in the league championship game, earning its third A-League title.
