Malcom Brown is excited to be a New England Patriot, and we have video proof.

The former Texas defensive tackle was selected by the Patriots with the 32nd overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft on Thursday night. Brown wasn’t in Chicago to meet Roger Goodell at the podium, opting to spend the special moment with family and friends back home.

That doesn’t mean Brown and Co. were any less enthused when the commissioner called his name.

That’s a pretty cool moment.

The 21-year-old Brenham, Texas, native will have to adjust for a move north — he admitted the only thing he knows about Boston is the Celtics — but all signs indicate he’s ready to get to work in New England.

“You’re about to get the best player you’ve ever drafted, so just be ready for when I touch the field,” Brown said.
