Thanks to the Stanley Cup playoff matchup between the Anaheim Ducks and the Chicago Blackhawks, the 1992 movie “The Might Ducks” is back on everyone’s radar.
The film is about a peewee hockey team, but that didn’t stop folks from noticing the Western Conference final mirrors the movie’s peewee state championships between, you guessed it, the Ducks and the Hawks.
A tweet from actor Emilio Estevez — aka fictional Ducks coach Gordon Bombay — on Monday supporting the real Ducks also transported sports fans back to the 1990s, which got us thinking about other great pre-millennium sports flicks.
From “Rudy” to “Any Given Sunday,” the ’90s gave us plenty of our favorite sports movies. Quack, quack.
