Dominique Easley Declared Out Of Patriots-Bills Matchup With Hip Injury

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — New England Patriots defensive lineman Dominique Easley didn’t make the trip to Buffalo with the rest of his teammates.

The Patriots’ 2014 first-round draft pick was declared out of Sunday’s matchup with the Bills because of a hip injury. Easley suffered the ailment eight plays into the Patriots’ Week 1 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Patriots offensive lineman Ryan Wendell was declared out Friday with an illness. Running back Travaris Cadet (hamstring), safety Tavon Wilson (quad) and defensive end Trey Flowers (knee) are probable to play. Since they weren’t declared out Friday, they made the trip to Buffalo. Cadet and Flowers could make their Patriots debuts Sunday against the Bills.

With Easley out, Flowers and fellow rookie defensive end Geneo Grissom could receive playing time on third down at defensive tackle. Rookie Malcom Brown and fellow defensive tackles Sealver Siliga and Alan Branch likely will receiver the majority of snaps at the position.
