Oregon looked absolutely lost against Utah on Saturday night. Especially on this play.
Already trailing the No. 18 Utes by 35 points late in the third quarter, the No. 13 Ducks were forced to punt from their own 35-yard-line. The punt sailed a little short, but apparently Oregon’s cover team didn’t get the memo.
You’ve got to hand it to Utah’s primary punt returner, who fooled everyone — even FOX’s television broadcast — by pretending to catch the ball near the left hash. His trickery allowed Utah’s Boobie Hobbs to field the punt all the way over near the right sideline and scamper 69 yards down the sideline for the touchdown.
Things didn’t get any better for the Ducks, either, as they fell 62-20 in their worst home loss ever at Autzen Stadium.
