Barcelona’s defense of its UEFA Champions League title hasn’t stuttered while Lionel Messi has been out with injury. After all, Luis Suarez and Neymar are more than capable of scoring goals in Messi’s absence.
Barcelona hosts BATE Borisov on Wednesday at the Nou Camp in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Barcelona can extend its lead atop Group E and all but assure itself a place in the Round of 16 with a victory over the Bulgarian side.
BATE Borisov lost 2-0 on Oct. 20 when the teams last met. Ivan Rakitic scored both goals for Barcelona.
Messi remains out with a knee injury, but the forms of Neymar and Suarez, who have scored 10 goals in the last four games, should power Barcelona to victory at home.
