BOSTON — The snowboard Big Air at Fenway finals are just a few hours away, but the best snowboarders in the world have been at Fenway Park since the crack of dawn.

In order to make it to the main event, which begins at 8 p.m. ET, the snowboarders had to qualify for the championship rounds.

The men were divided up into two heats, and the five best scores from each group advanced to the final. Michael Ciccarelli had the top score in Heat 1, and Seppe Smits, Eric Beauchemin, Sage Kotsenburg and Jonas Boesiger also qualified.

Max Parrot turned in the best score in Heat 2 and overall with a 95.5, and Michael Schaerer, Charles Guldemond, Lyon Farrell and Mons Roysland rounded out the top five.

Qualifying for the ladies’ final were Jenna Blasman, who had the best qualifying round with a 95.5, Julia Marino, Brooke Voigt, Karly Shorr, Spencer O’Brien and Jessika Jenson.

Pretty soon, those 16 finalists will be flying into the Boston skyline and landing right at home plate. It doesn’t get much better than that.
