It didn’t take Rob Gronkowski very long to move on from last season and begin preparing for 2016.
The New England Patriots tight end is training in Florida at Bommarito Performance Systems as his youngest brother, former Kansas State fullback Glenn Gronkowski, prepares for the NFL Scouting Combine.
Gronkowski had one of his most productive NFL seasons, catching 72 passes for 1,176 yards with 11 touchdowns in 2015 as he battled through minor back and knee injuries. It’s the tight end’s second consecutive offseason in which he isn’t rehabbing a major ailment.
Gronkowski tore his ACL in 2013, broke his forearm in 2012 and required surgery on an injured ankle after the 2011 season.
Glenn Gronkowski currently is projected as a fourth- or fifth-round draft pick. He played fullback in college but could convert to tight end in the NFL. He had 31 total touches in three college seasons for 420 yards with six touchdowns. He met with the Patriots at this year’s Senior Bowl.
Glenn would become the fourth Gronkowski brother to play in the NFL. Chris Gronkowski played fullback in the NFL from 2010 to 2013. He had stints with the Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers. Dan, a tight end, played with the Detroit Lions, Broncos, Patriots and Cleveland Browns from 2009 to 2013.
