FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots selected linebackers back to back in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
The Patriots grabbed Houston linebacker Elandon Roberts with the 214th overall pick. The 5-foot-11, 234-pound defender ran a 4.60-second 40-yard dash with a 1.67-second 10-yard split, 7.20-second 3-cone, 4.26-second short shuttle, 36-inch vertical leap and 10-foot broad jump at his pro day last month.
He recorded 142 tackles in 2016 with 19 tackles for loss and six sacks in 2015. He also forced two fumbles.
The Patriots selected Eastern Illinois linebacker/safety Kamu Grugier-Hill with the 208th overall pick in the sixth round.
