Mike Napoli’s home run Monday afternoon wasn’t enough to power the Cleveland Indians past the Texas Rangers, but it did help make the day especially memorable forĀ one Indians fan.

As the Indians and Rangers warmed up before their Memorial Day matinee, Napoli met a fan named Kathi Heintzelman, who is battling cancer and was set to begin chemotherapy Tuesday. Her request: a hug and a homer from the Tribe first baseman.

Napoli took care of the first part before the game, even leavingĀ Heintzelman with an autographed ball, then followed through with part two by taking Rangers pitcher Derek Holland deep for a solo home run in the sixth inning of Cleveland’s 9-2 loss.
