The San Jose Sharks sleepwalked through the first two periods in Game 1 of their Stanley Cup playoff second-round series against the Nashville Predators, but they looked like a completely different team in the final frame.
The Sharks unloaded five third-period goals on the Predators en route to a 5-2 victory. While that ultimately was enough to win Game 1, that’s usually not a a formula for success. Nashville, meanwhile, needs to avoid another 20-minute letdown if it wants to even the series.
