UPDATE (June 16, 10:25 a.m. ET): The Patriots announced they will hold joint practices with the Saints on Aug. 9 and 10. They will be free and open to the public.

ORIGINAL STORY: The New England Patriots already are scheduled to hold joint practices in training camp with the Chicago Bears. It seems they’ve found another team game for some practice competition.

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said he expects his team to hold joint practices with the Patriots this summer, via The Advocate’s Nick Underhill.

The Patriots play a preseason game against the Saints on Aug. 11 at Gillette Stadium. So, the practices likely would be held in the week leading up to the game at the practices fields behind Gillette Stadium. They also likely will be free and open to the public.

Patriots training camp is projected to begin July 28.
