Brendan Rodgers’ first game as manager of Celtic was a nightmare.

The Scottish club lost 1-0 to the Lincoln Red Imps on Wednesday in a 2016-17 UEFA Champions League qualifier. Basically, a club that has a rich history and features a roster of talented professionals lost to a team from Gibraltar that has a lot of players with day jobs not involving soccer.

Lincoln was a massive 33-1 pre-match underdog to Celtic, but despite the shocking result, Rodgers said he isn’t embarrassed by the outcome.

“There is no embarrassment,” Rodgers said, per Sky Sports. “It was a tough game in tough conditions. We didn’t take our chances, they took their chance.”

Rodgers better put together a string of positive results quickly. If he doesn’t, his tenure at Celtic could be even shorter than his stint at Liverpool.
