Everton and Tottenham have high hopes for the 2016-17 Premier League season.
They’ll taste their first action of the new campaign Saturday when they meet at Goodison Park in their Premier League opener. One will start its season on sound footing. The other will have to cope with early disappointment.
Everton no longer has American goalkeeper Tim Howard in its squad. He joined Major League Soccer’s Colorado Rapids in July after over a decade in England’s top flight. New Everton manager Ronald Koeman is confident the Toffees can succeed in the post-Howard era.
