Lonzo Ball Offers Trae Young Advice, As NCAA Basketball Star Copies His Shot

Lonzo Ball has warned Trae Young flattery won’t take him far in the NBA.

The Los Angeles Lakers point guard reacted Wednesday night via Twitter to a video Overtime posted of the Oklahoma Sooners guard mimicking his unorthodox shooting form. Young hit a few jumpers shooting like Ball, but the Lakers rookie advised him to keep the stroke that made him a college basketball sensation.

Young led the nation in points (27.4) and assists (8.7) per game and helped the Sooners reach the NCAA Tournament, where Rhode Island eliminated them in the Round of 64. He declared Tuesday he’ll leave college after his freshman year and enter the 2018 NBA Draft.

Young almost certainly will face Ball next season in the NBA. It’ll be interesting to see whether Young continues to imitate Ball’s form as some sort of new-age trolling.
