ESPN’s Adam Schefter caused widespread panic across New England on Wednesday, reporting that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady hasn’t committed to playing next season. The “Tom vs Time” director isn’t helping, either.
But as Wednesday progressed, Patriots fans were given reasons to believe the sky isn’t falling on Gillette Stadium.
First, let’s look at this report from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio:
“Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Brady already has made arrangements to get together with some of his teammates between the end of the offseason program and the start of training camp in order to better prepare for the season to come.”
Now let’s check in with NBC Sports Boston’s Mike Giardi:
A pair of Tom Brady's teammates tell me they've spoken to the QB this offseason, including discussions about the upcoming season, and he's never indicated he wasn't playing/retiring. Also, Brady continued his normal workout regimen/diet to this point, even while in Qatar.

That’s good news if you’re team TB12.
At the end of the day, it seems more probable than not Brady is back under center for New England next season. But Schefter’s report, coupled with the Patriots quarterback’s absence from voluntary workouts, understandably has many concerned that Brady’s days in Foxboro are numbered.
