The Boston Red Sox will be looking to halt their current two-game losing streak when they open a weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday at -105 on the baseball moneyline at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Boston reaches the season’s quarter pole with just 19 wins, and is 2-4 in its last six games heading into Friday night’s Angels vs. Red Sox betting matchup at Fenway Park. The Red Sox have produced just 15 runs in their last six outings, dropping them to 12th in the AL in runs scored, while the total has played UNDER in each of their last eight.

However, the Red Sox have been effective at containing opposing bats, surrendering just 18 runs over their last eight games.

Rick Porcello is expected to start for the Red Sox on Friday. Boston is a perfect 5-0 over Porcello’s last five starts, in which he has three wins and lowered his ERA to a respectable 4.26.

Garrett Richards will take the mound for Los Angeles, in search of his first-ever win against the Red Sox. Richards was tagged with the decision in a 3-0 loss to Baltimore in his last outing, but currently owns a 3-2 record along with a strong 2.29 ERA.

The Angels wrap up their current nine-game swing through the east with three games in Boston. Los Angeles is 4-2 on its current road trip after taking two games each from the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays, and a strong 7-3 in its last 10 to keep pace with the AL West-leading Houston Astros, whom they trail by 5 1/2 games.

Los Angeles has dominated the Red Sox in recent meetings, going 16-5 in its last 21 games according to the OddsShark MLB Database, including a four-game sweep in its last visit to Fenway in August. Continued success against Boston could boost the Angels’ fortunes both in the standings and on the World Series odds.

Following a disappointing start to the season, the Angels have tumbled to 22-1 in World Series futures betting after opening the season with strong 12-1 odds at the sportsbooks. The Red Sox continue their fall down the MLB futures, entering the weekend well back of the favorites at 25-1.

The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to maintain their spot as 6/1 World Series favorites at the sportsbooks. However, the red-hot Washington Nationals, winners of five straight, and 11 of their last 13 games, have closed to 13-2, followed by the Kansas City Royals at 15-2, the St. Louis Cardinals at 8-1, and the Detroit Tigers at 9-1.
