The Houston Texans added injury to insult Sunday when they lost running back Arian Foster during a 44-26 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Foster was carted off the field late in the loss after appearing to injure his right leg during a play.

The Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson reported that the outlook is grim.

Wilson added that if Foster did suffer a torn right Achilles tendon, the injury would keep him out for the remainder of the season.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport cited a source in reporting that Foster had, in fact, torn his Achilles and would miss the remainder of the season.

Foster previously missed the first three weeks of the season while recovering from a groin injury in which he reportedly tore his groin muscle off the bone.

Foster finished with 59 yards rushing and 66 yards receiving with two touchdowns. The 125 total yards from scrimmage marked the 50th time in his career that Foster has accumulated 100 or more yards in a game — a Texans franchise record, according to the team website.

Alfred Blue is the next man up on the depth chart and finally put things together in Week 3 just before Foster’s return, recording 139 yards rushing with a touchdown.
