Fantasy Football Week 4 Waiver Wire: Five Must-Drop Players To Replace

Week 3 of the NFL season saw many surprise performances, and some of them were bad ones by players who fantasy football owners expect much better production from.

If you’re 0-3 or 1-2 through three weeks, it’s time to make some changes to your fantasy roster before it’s too late. Here’s a list of five players to consider dropping entering Week 4.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, New York Jets
It’s usually not a great idea to overreact to one game, but Fitzpatrick’s 188 yards, zero touchdowns and six interceptions in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs was pretty awful. It also was his second sub-200 yard performance in three games. His 55.8 completion percentage is worrisome, as well. Fitzpatrick is not worth owning in leagues that start one quarterback per week.

Chris Ivory, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Ivory missed the first two games of the season with an illness, but he didn’t do much in his debut against the Baltimore Ravens. He ran for just 12 yards on 14 carries with zero touchdowns Sunday. The Jaguars have been trailing in every game this season, so there’s little chance they’ll be able to establish the run to the point where Ivory is consistently fantasy relevant.

Justin Forsett, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Terrance West has received the majority of the carries in the Ravens’ backfield, and Forsett hasn’t done much with the touches he’s been given. Forsett is averaging 3.2 yards per carry with zero touchdowns through three games. Unless you’re using Forsett as a flex play in a deep PPR league, it’s time to drop him.

Devin Funchess, WR, Carolina Panthers
Funchess was expected to enjoy a breakout 2016 season, but he’s been mostly invisible through three games with just three catches for 28 yards and a touchdown. He tallied zero receptions on just two targets in Sunday’s Week 3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Funchess’ value in non-PPR leagues is pretty minimal right now, so don’t be afraid to drop him if better options are available on the waiver wire.

Charles Clay, TE, Buffalo Bills
Clay has seven receptions for 67 yards through three games, which is well below expectations. Even with the Bills’ offense dealing with injuries at the wide receiver position, Clay’s production has not increased. He was targeted just twice in Sunday’s upset win over the Arizona Cardinals and finished the game with no catches. His lack of red zone targets and the knee issue that’s bothering him — he was questionable for Week 3 — make him not worth owning, especially in non-PPR formats.
