Peyton Manning's Consecutive Start Streak Could Be in Jeopardy As Lockout Has Kept Him From Team Therapist The only quarterback in NFL history to start more consecutive games than Peyton Manning is none other than Brett Favre.

Favre's streak, extended over a career from 1992-2010, lasted an impressive 297 consecutive starts. Manning, who started his career in 1998, has never missed a start in the NFL to give him 208 consecutive starts.

However, his inability to consult with Colts therapist Erin Burril this offseason is jeopardizing the streak, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

"The lockout didn't allow me to work my [Colts] therapist, Erin Burill, and I'm just not comfortable taking any chances with this thing," Manning said to Mortensen.

"Erin knows me. He's rehabbed me through two other surgeries [neck and knee] and I think most people understand that once you build up a trust with your therapist, that's the guy you want and need to work with."

On May 23, Manning had surgery to repair a bulging disk in his neck, the second neck surgery he's had in the last 15 months. Not being able to properly rehab with Burill could set Manning back for the (hopeful) start of the 2011 season.

Although Manning gave no indication that he would miss a start in the 2011 regular season, it is unknown how involved the Super Bowl champion quarterback will be in preseason.
