Report: Yankees Not on Mets Closer Francisco Rodriguez’s No-Trade List

Like fellow Mets trade candidate Carlos Beltran, closer Francisco Rodriguez has a no-trade clause in his contract. Apparently, the Yankees are not on his no-trade list.

The Wall Street Journal reports that K-Rod's list of 10 teams to which he would not accept a trade does not include the Bronx Bombers.

This contradicts a previous report that seemed to eliminate the Yankees from being a potential landing spot for the Mets closer.

K-Rod's agent, Scott Boras, previously indicated to the Wall Street Journal's Brian Costa that Rodriguez would not accept a trade to a team where he would be used as a set-up man. Since the Yankees, of course, already have Mariano Rivera as their closer, this seemed to rule them out.

The Yankees are reportedly not interested in Rodriguez right now, but they are likely going to wait and see how Rafael Soriano progresses from his elbow injury before shutting the door on pursuing him.
