The Red Sox lost their series against the Yankees, but they're still in first place. On Friday night, they'll look to both send a message to a potential October opponent and affect another playoff race when they host the Texas Rangers.
The Rangers are just 3 1/2 games ahead of the Angels in the AL West, in what will almost certainly be a tight race through the end of the season. They'll be gunning for a win, but they'll need to get through the Red Sox.
Andrew Miller gets the start for the Sox, who are 9-1 when the tall lefty gets the ball. For Texas, Derek Holland gets the start.
NESN will have this one covered from start to finish, beginning with pregame coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m., leading into first pitch just after 7 p.m., heading into postgame coverage after the game and rounding out with NESN Daily.
Also, don't forget to showcase your passion at Fenway Park on Sunday, Sept. 4 by bringing a sign to the game, creating one when you get there or submitting one from home.
