The night got away from Jason Kidd.
Kidd, who pleaded not guilty to a DWI charge after crashing his car into a telephone pole early Sunday morning, appeared to be "incredibly drunk" while out at a club earlier in the night, a witness told TMZ.
Kidd reportedly tried to hang from a club light during the charity event, and had to be carried out of the club upon leaving around 1 a.m. The new Knicks point guard, who signed a three-year deal with the team on Thursday, reportedly drove off after being carried out despite protests from his friends.
Officers responded to the crash at 1:56 a.m., police said. Kidd had no passengers in his SUV, and no other vehicles were involved. He suffered minor injuries and is now awaiting further court proceedings, his attorney told TMZ.
But hey, at least Kidd got to meet George Lucas at the event — whether he remembers it or not.
Check out the photo of Kidd below that was obtained by TMZ.
