Rex Ryan may have slimmed down in the offseason, but recipes are still his strong suit.
Following the Jets’ lackluster performance against the 49ers on Sunday, Ryan shared what he claims to be a recipe for getting your butt whooped.
“I apologize for my language because I was going to say we got out butts kicked, but we got our asses kicked. Here’s a recipe for getting your asses kicked,” Ryan said after the Jets’ 34-0 loss. “Two-for-13 on third down … four turnovers, a blocked punt when they rush one guy and giving up 245 yards rushing. How’s that for a recipe?”
Ryan even apologized to Jets fans, saying that they deserve much better than what they got on Sunday. In fact, Ryan made it perfectly clear that the Jets are not even close to being one of the better teams in the league.
“It’s unacceptable,” Ryan said. “We’ve got to look at it. It starts with the coaches. The players aren’t going to be in Monday or Tuesday. They have to dig deep and look down at themselves. As coaches, we need to look at what we’re doing.”
One thing Ryan doesn’t plan to look too hard at right now is the team’s quarterback situation. Mark Sanchez was brutal on Sunday, but Ryan isn’t ready to hand the keys over to Tim Tebow just yet.
