Meetings between Romanian soccer heavyweights Steaua Bucharest and Rapid Bucharest are almost always heated affairs. Apparently, that truism applies to youth-team games as well.
An angry Romanian soccer mom made a scene during a recent game involving the two clubs’ U-19 teams.
When her son, a Rapid Bucharest player, was fouled and injured by a Steaua player, she didn’t stand by and watch. She stood up for her cub. The irate woman charged the field, yelled at and threatened the offending player, who was sent off for the foul.
The Guardian reports the Steaua player was stuck in limbo. He didn’t go to the dressing room because he was scared of the Rapid fans he might encounter on the way. But he couldn’t stay on the sidelines, where the angry soccer mom could easily berate him.
A worse fate awaited the injured Rapid player. Everyone knows mothers aren’t supposed to run onto the field when their sons are injured. It’s not because he’ll think she doesn’t care. It’s because his peers will tease and torment him over the incident for weeks, months or years to come.
Watch the incident in the video below.
