Christian Ponder, Samatha Steele Engaged Shortly After Confirming They Are Dating

Christian Ponder is having some trouble putting the ball in his receivers’ hands lately, but he had no problem putting a ring on Samantha Steele‘s finger.

Just over a month since Ponder confirmed that he and Steele were dating, Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch has reported that the two are engaged.

Spoke to ESPN's @Samantha_Steele today. She confirms she is engaged to @VikingsFootball quarterback Christian Ponder.

The couple’s relationship has seemingly had opposite effects on the two’s careers. Steele, a reporter for ESPN’s College Football Live, has seen her popularity rise since being linked to Ponder. For the Minnesota quarterback, though, things have not gone so well. The Vikings are 2-4 over their last six games, and Ponder has thrown seven interceptions in those contests.

Maybe Ponder was so busy thinking of the perfect way to propose to Steele that he hasn’t been spending enough time looking at his playbook. For the Vikings’ playoff chances, let’s hope his main focus is on football now.
