Vince Wilfork‘s wallet is a little lighter this week. Pat Chung‘s is still the same.
Wilfork was fined $30,000 by the NFL for hitting Jaguars offensive lineman Steve Vallos in the head at the end of a fourth-quarter punt return, according to the NFL. The defensive lineman was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play, resulting in a 15-yard penalty.
Chung, on the other hand, did not have any additional punishment handed down by the league after he was called for a 15-yard penalty for a hit on wide receiver Cecil Shorts. Chung’s hit drew about a half-dozen flags from the officials, but apparently it did not warrant any monetary punishment for the Patriots’ safety.
The Patriots will face Miami in Week 17 hoping to earn a first-round bye for the playoffs.
