Ronda Rousey made history on Saturday night.
The UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion retained her belt in the first women’s match in UFC history. Rousey beat Liz Carmouche with 11 seconds left in the first round on an armbar. The women’s debut was the main event at UFC 157.
Rousey (7-0) was the heavy favorite coming into the match, but Carmouche (7-3) got off to a hot start in the opening two minutes. Rousey has won all seven of her bouts by the armbar.
