The Pittsburgh Steeler with the most recognizable hair is probably safety Troy Polamalu, but defensive end Brett Keisel — with a beard that would make Santa Claus jealous — is not far behind.
Or, we should say was not far behind. Keisel shaved his bushy facial hair during the third annual Shear Da Beard fundraiser Thursday night, which raised money for cancer research at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh at UPMC.
Everybody took their turn with the scissors, including several of his Steelers teammates, head coach Mike Tomlin and team chairman Dan Rooney, and the transformation was shocking — so much so that Keisel’s own daughter did not recognize him.
