Jacoby Ellsbury Is Red Sox' Best Leadoff Option, But Lineup Change Could Spark Struggling Outfielder
Over his last three games, Dwight Howard is 4-for-20 from the free throw line, continuing his career-long struggles from the charity stripe. On the year, the Lakers center is shooting a dismal 48 percent.
Behind closed doors, however, Howard appears to be a much different free throw shooter.
Beto Duran of ESPN Radio snapped a photo Monday inside the Lakers’ locker room of a board that compares practice and in-game free throws through the All-Star break. Surprisingly, Howard is an 82 percent free throw shooter during practice.
Howard is the team’s worst free throw shooter in practice — tied with Pau Gasol — but a 30 percent drop-off during games helps explain why Los Angeles ranks 29th in league in free throw percentage.
