The Boston Celtics are getting everything they can out of the Chinese Basketball Association. The team, which has already signed Terrence Williams and D.J. White from abroad, announced Thursday that it has signed Shavlik Randolph to a 10-day contract.
Randolph, who flew into Boston on Friday, was welcomed by Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge. The Celtics again needed a letter of clearance from the CBA, but they received it Friday, agent Joel Bell told Real GM.
Over the course of his five-year career, the 29-year-old has played for four different NBA teams, including the Miami Heat, averaging 2.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
Randolph averaged 32.0 points, 14.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks when playing for the Foshan Long Lions, shooting 53.1 percent while averaging 36.5 minutes a game.
