Nationals closer Henry Rodriguez has struggled with his wild pitches all season, and Sunday night against the Reds, it came back to get him — literally.
After throwing a crazy pitch over the safety net into the stands earlier in the month, Rodriguez followed it up with an even crazier one. On an outside pitch to Reds catcher Corky Miller, Rodriguez missed his own catcher, Kurt Suzuki, and the ball went careening off of the backstop, popped into the air and almost landed back on Rodriguez near the mound. Pretty impressive placement.
