Lolo Jones is not doing a great job of ingratiating herself with the bobsledding community.
Last Friday night, Jones and fellow Olympic bobsled hopeful Aja Evans were involved in an altercation at a Lake Placid bar that resulted in the former track and field star punching the stepdaughter of U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation Hall of Famer Tony Carlino, sources told both Deadspin and Fox Sports Tonight radio host Amy Van Dyken.
Carlino, the former head of Team USA bobsledding, currently runs the bobsled track in Lake Placid.
Black Sports Online posted audio of Van Dyken’s report, during which the former Olympic swimmer claims Jones “knocked out” Carlino’s stepdaughter, though she does not comment on where she heard this information.
Both outlets also cited sources saying that federation officials gathered Jones and the other athletes immediately after the incident, which reportedly took place outside Roomers Night Club at around 1 a.m., and told them to keep quiet about it.
Neither Van Dyken nor Deadspin were able to learn what initiated the fight or if any athletes other than Jones or Evans were involved.
