It did not take long for the Browns to narrow down their search for Trent Richardson‘s replacement.
Shortly after finalizing the deal to send Richardson to Indianapolis for a first-round pick, Cleveland announced that free-agent running back Willis McGahee will come in for a physical on Thursday.
Both CBSSports.com’s Jason La Canfora and NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport report that the team plans to sign McGahee if he passes said physical.
McGahee has proven to be a quality back in the past, earning a pair of Pro Bowl nods and compiling four 1,000-yard seasons. His 2012 campaign was cut short by a knee injury in Week 11, though, and he has failed to catch on with a team since being waived by Denver in June.
The Miami product has played for the Bills, Ravens and Broncos in his nine-year career, totaling 8,097 rushing yards and 63 touchdowns.
