An unfortunate instance of friendly fire will leave the Ravens without one of their top receiving threats for the next month or so.
Jacoby Jones is expected to miss the next four to six weeks with an MCL sprain after being steamrolled by teammate Brynden Trawick on a punt return during Thursday night’s 49-27 loss to the Broncos, a league source told Pro Football Talk.
Trawick, an undrafted rookie defensive back, was attempting to line up a block during the second quarter when he collided with the stationary Jones, who was back to receive the kick. The wideout headed to the locker room following the play and did not return to the game.
The departure of Anquan Boldin in the offseason had allowed Jones to move up to the No. 2 receiver slot in Baltimore behind Torrey Smith. He caught three passes for 24 yards Thursday night before the injury forced him from the game.
