Celtics Sign Guard Chris Babb To Second 10-Day Contract

The Boston Celtics announced Tuesday that they have re-signed guard Chris Babb to a second 10-day contract.

Babb, an undrafted rookie out of Iowa State, was offered the deal after Sunday’s 118-111 win over the Detroit Pistons.

“Yeah, sure, why not?” Babb said after the game. “I’ll stick around a few more days.”

Babb has appeared in four games for the Celtics this season, averaging¬†3.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per night. He has spent the bulk of the year with the Maine Red Claws, Boston’s D-League affiliate, for whom he averaged¬†12.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 33 games.

The Celtics, winners of three of their last five, visit the Eastern Conference-leading Indiana Pacers on Tuesday.
