It’s been known for some time now that Boston College junior Ryan Anderson will not be returning to Chestnut Hill for his senior season. On Thursday, the former Eagle decided on a landing spot.
Anderson announced via Twitter that he will be transferring to the University of Arizona, where he will play for a Wildcats team that earned a No. 1 seed in this past NCAA tournament.

A 6-foot-8 forward, Anderson played in all 32 games for BC during his junior season, averaging 14.3 points and a team-high 7.6 rebounds per game. As a transfer, the Lakewood, Calif., native will be ineligible to play until the 2015-16 season, but — judging by his newly updated Twitter profile — he’s already embracing the change.
With Anderson’s departure, sophomore guard Olivier Hanlan will the only returning BC player who averaged double-digit points this past season.
Arizona advanced to the Elite Eight before losing by one point to Wisconsin, 64-63.
