Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz is as entertaining off the field as he is inside the batter’s box.
Fans have recognized Big Papi’s larger-than-life personality over the years, so it’s no wonder FOX Sports asked the Sox DH to appear in the premiere episode of “Back Of The Shop” — a show that promises to give fans an unfiltered look into the private conversations of the public’s biggest sports and entertainment stars.
In the episode, which airs Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1, Ortiz joins New York Yankees outfielder Alfonso Soriano, New York Knicks star Iman Shumpert and former Charlotte Hornet and New York Knick Larry Johnson.
Papi and the crew chatted about Jason Kidd’s speedy transition to head coach, chicken and beer, Michael Jordan’s baseball skills, social media and much more. At one point during the episode, Ortiz even admits that “at one point, basketball was my life.”
