Twins’ Oswaldo Arcia Succeeds In Destroying Bat Over His Knee (Video)

We’ve seen many players in Major League Baseball attempt to break their bats this season, and the results have been varied.

New York Mets catcher Anthony Recker and Seattle Mariners first baseman Logan Morrison, for example, both succeeded in splintering their lumber, while the likes of Bryce Harper and Carlos Gomez both failed rather miserably.

Harper and Gomez should take notes from Oswaldo Arcia.

The Minnesota Twins outfielder did not enjoy himself on Sunday, striking out three times in a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox.

After striking out to end the sixth inning, Arcia’s frustration finally boiled over in the form of an absolute demolition of his bat over his right knee.

Arcia certainly is no Bo Jackson, who had a penchant for making his massive bats seem like small twigs. Yet it still was an impressive feat of strength from the 23-year-old Venezuelan, who is in his second season in the bigs after making his Twins debut last April.

Arcia’s 2014 campaign isn’t going too well, as he’s hitting at a .221 clip with 66 strikeouts in 54 games. At least he’s got the bat-breaking game down pat.
