Drew Brees’ temper made a rare appearance Sunday at the Superdome.
The New Orleans Saints quarterback was sacked by Minnesota Vikings cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, who capped off the tackle by lifting Brees and slamming him hard to the turf.
Brees isn’t known for showing much emotion on the field, but Munnerlyn’s body slam apparently pushed him over the edge. The veteran signal-caller came up heated and looked to give his tackler a piece of his mind.
He instead found safety Robert Blanton and gave the Vikings D-back a few awkward, after-the-whistle shoves.
Brees wasn’t flagged for his actions, but Munnerlyn was. The unnecessary roughness penalty extended the drive, which culminated in an 18-yard touchdown strike from Brees to Marques Colston.
