Bust out the kielbasa and pierogies. The Poles are taking over the NFL.
OK, that’s a bit of an overstatement, but the Eastern European nation was quite well-represented in Sunday’s game between the New England Patriots and the Oakland Raiders.
It all started when Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski got his team on the board with a first-quarter field goal. The Patriots responded when tight end Rob Gronkowski caught a touchdown from quarterback Tom Brady. New England extended its lead when kicker Stephen Gostkowski booted one through the uprights. Anyone seeing a trend here?

No, that’s not a typo. As SB Nation astutely pointed out, all 25 points in this game were scored by a player whose last name ended in “-kowski.” Forgive us for not checking the record books, but we’re going to go ahead and say that’s never happened before.
Fortunately for New England, its “-kowski’s” were better than the Raiders’ “kowski’s” as the Pats escaped with a 16-9 win.
