The coin toss really isn’t supposed to be the most difficult part of a college football game, but it proved challenging for the Texas Longhorns on Saturday afternoon.

The Longhorns ended up kicking off to start both halves against UCLA after Texas captain Tank Johnson had the brain fart to end all brain farts.

After UCLA won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half, Johnson made Bruins fans very happy, as he presumably forgot he had the option to receive and instead chose to kick. A very gracious referee even took pity on Johnson, attempting to explain the situation to the confused defensive tackle, but to no avail.

Not surprisingly, Texas head coach Charlie Strong was not pleased about his player’s questionable decision.

UCLA coach Jim Mora, however, couldn’t believe his luck.

Strong likely isn’t over the blunder yet, either, as the Longhorns lost a heartbreaker to No. 12 UCLA 20-17.
