Katy PerryFootball fans got a dose of Katy Perry last weekend during ESPN’s “College GameDay” and now they’ll get some more.

The pop star, who asked Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight to call her and threw corndogs on the college football pregame show, will perform during the halftime show at Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona.

Rihanna and Coldplay were also in the running to play in the halftime show.

The NFL was seeking a “pay for play” system where the artist would have to contribute income generated from tours following the Super Bowl to the league. Perry recently said she’s “not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl” and it’s not clear if she actually will pay.

Either way, this will be mutually beneficial for both sides. The league gets an act whose last two albums hit No. 1 and Perry has an opportunity to perform for a massive television audience.
