Thunder Announce Kevin Durant Out 6 To 8 Weeks With Foot Injury

kevin durantKevin Durant’s 2014-15 season is already off to a rough start.

The Oklahoma City Thunder announced Sunday morning that the reigning MVP will miss six to eight weeks after he was diagnosed with a Jones fracture in his right foot that will require surgery.

According to a statement released by general manager Sam Presti, Durant complained of pain his foot after practice Saturday. Presti acknowledged that most players miss six to eight weeks following that injury, but he would not give a specific timetable for Durant’s return.

Durant is coming off arguably the best season of his career. The 26-year-old won the NBA scoring title after averaging 32 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.
