Grammy Award-winning recording artist Taylor Swift and United States Olympic figure skater Gracie Gold have developed quite the friendship over the last year. They have Twitter to thank for their budding relationship.
The magic began with the following tweets during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The two celebrities subsequently exchanged direct messages and texts, leading to several face-to-face interactions. Gold even hung out with Swift, Lorde, Jaime King and the sisters from HAIM on Catalina Island in Southern California over the weekend.
Gold and Swift essentially are best friends, which Gold still is trying to wrap her head around.
“It’s kind of surreal, because it’s Taylor Swift, like the No. 1 female of 2014 with ‘1989,’” Gold said earlier this week, referencing Swift’s latest chart-topping album, according to NBC Sports’ OlympicTalk blog.
