NFL Teams Should Look For Game-Changing Running Backs In Stacked Draft Class

The NFL game is changing, and this year’s draft should offer teams the chance to adjust on the fly.

There’s no shortage of teams rebuilding, and most of those teams are looking for a franchise quarterback like Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers to build a team around. The problem with that, however, is players of that caliber are few and far between.

Former NFL linebacker Matt Chatham says that instead of looking for marquee quarterbacks, teams should be looking to further solidify their running games. They’ll have a chance to do that at the draft where there’s plenty of options to pick up a running back.

“Competence at quarterback paired with super-talented runners is the new winning formula that patiently awaits prescient NFL executives to embrace it,” Chatham wrote on FootballByFootball.com.
