Andy Dalton apparently has a lot of work in front of him if he wants to win back the fans of Cincinnati.

The Bengals quarterback has had an up-and-down relationship with the fans since being drafted in the second round in 2011. Bengals fans, desperate for their team to have any sort of success, sure sound like they’re growing impatient with Dalton’s inconsistent ways.

On Sunday, Dalton played in the celebrity softball game ahead of Tuesday night’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Cincinnati. A seemingly innocent event, right?

Not so fast.

According to reports, Dalton received a mix of boos and cheers when he was introduced before the game and when he went to the plate for his first at-bat.

However, Dalton didn’t seem too concerned.

“I’m not worried about it,” Dalton told reporters, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. “Everybody has got an opinion. It doesn’t really matter. It comes with it. Everybody has their opinion here. There’s a lot of support and that’s all that matters.”

It certainly didn’t affect his play. Dalton hit two home runs during the celebrity game.
