Mookie Betts Back In Red Sox’s Lineup; Hanley Ramirez Sits Vs. Marlins

Welcome back, Mookie Betts.

The center fielder will return to the Boston Red Sox’s starting lineup Tuesday night after missing the last 11 games with a concussion. Betts will bat leadoff in the opener of a two-game interleague series with the Miami Marlins.

Elsewhere in the Red Sox’s outfield, Rusney Castillo will start in right and Jackie Bradley Jr. will start in left, replacing usual starter Hanley Ramirez.

Ramirez, a former Marlin, is dealing with a foot injury that sidelined him for the final two games of Boston’s weekend series in Detroit. Bradley, meanwhile, is coming off the best game of his career. The 25-year-old outfielder homered, tripled and drove in a career-high five runs in Sunday’s 7-2 win over the Tigers.

Tuesday’s game will be played under National League rules, meaning designated hitter David Ortiz will pick up his glove and play first base against a Marlins team that has lost 13 of its last 16 games.
