Kanye West claims to be a genius and a god, so it only makes sense he’d draw inspiration from New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

At least that what Julian Edelman thinks.

The New England Patriots wide receiver joked about Belichick’s fashion sense (or lack thereof) in a recent interview with Vogue magazine, agreeing when it was suggested the 63-year-old was the model for West’s new “Yeezy” fashion line that includes cropped hoodies.

“I was thinking the exact same thing with what (Kanye’s) been wearing to all the award shows,” Edelman told Vogue. “I guess he may have had the inspiration from coach Belichick.

“You know Coach — he’s fashion-forward. He sets the tempo; he sets the trends when he cuts off all his hoodies.”

Edelman also named who he believed was most fashionable on the team — a list including Danny Amendola, Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung and “old man (Tom) Brady.”

All joking aside, Edelman’s interview was to promote his new NFL clothing line, which he hopes can be cool to wear “every day, instead of just wearing it on game day.”

Then again, Belichick already does.
