To the victor go the spoils.

Novak Djokovic appeared on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert on Monday after defeating Roger Federer to win the U.S. Open championship over the weekend.

The 28-year-old Serbian was fantastic, joking that when he goes to the movies, he’s allowed to use the championship trophy to get free refills. But the second perk of being champion, he said, is firing tennis balls at late night talk show hosts. He even reminded Colbert that his fastest serve clocked in at 130 mph.

But nothing to worry about, Stephen. Right?

Kudos to Colbert for having the guts to do something so wild — shield or not.
